Assetto Corsa Motion Code

Hi, after a bunch of testing, my friends and I noted that in the original Assetto Corsa, although the motion is pretty good overall, that in particular, rumble strips on tracks (even those with prominent FFB via the wheel) do not reflect this in the rigs’ motion.

Is this a setting? Can I adjust it ? I note that some sims don’t have the same sliders in their motion code parameters, but surely if the wheel has it, then the rig could pic up similar?

Ta! (and keep up the amazing work!)

WRC Generations PLZ!!

@colin.mcnaughton I have some insights for Assetto Corsa.
We don’t information of the track and this is disabling us from giving the best rumble strip effect. The game integrated sdk of the peripherals, therefore, they receive the information. We are using a plugin with public data and we are not fully integrated with sdk.

Hope you’re enjoying WRC Generations

This really should be there in AC and D-Box especially given how popular AC is.
How is Sim Racing Studios getting this data for the motion hardware they support?
Do they have access to the SDK too? If so why doesn’t a huge company like D-Box? Especially given the cost of D-Box motion compared to SRS.

@Jenner We’re investigating on this one. I’ll get back to you.

Hi @Jenner,

SRS do have adjustments for Rumble strips, but they are the same for all games. It’s not specific for Assetto Corsa.

We verify and Assetto Corsa and rumble strips effect is not available. We do believe you can feel them with the suspension, but it could depend on different other settings or cushion you might have. The effect is felt only if the virtual track has the texture because it’s in places and not an image without texture. In any case the sound of the game informs us when we drive on the side of the road. Here’s what we note:

  • Spa-Francorchamps - some are textured, some are not, the sfx comes through, we only feel it through the suspensions on the textured ones
  • Imola - no textured kerbs, only sfx, no feeling
  • Laguna Seca - some are textured, some are not, the sfx comes through, we only feel it through the suspensions on the textured ones
  • Magione - most are textured, good feeling
  • Monza - most are textured, good feeling
  • Mugello - close together, some feeling
  • Nurbugring GP - some are textured, some not, overall good feeling
  • Silverstone GP - some are textured, some are not, overall okay feeling

Hope this is helpful to you. Our 85 employees’ company is fully dedicated to make sure you get the best experience possible

Thanks D-Box team for the detailed responses. Been really enjoying the D-Box system the past couple of years.

Is it possible for D-Box to introduce a more canned efffect as an option in Assetto Corsa motion code settings to generate a consistent curb feeling? Right now I’m using a buttkicker in Simhub to compensate for additional rumble strip effects. Would prefer to get it through D-Box and get the iRacing implementation feeling, which you do really well! Would be great if gear change effects could also be ‘tightened’ up, as they don’t have the same great kick feeling you get with the Automobilista 2 & iRacing motion code.

I’m sure this would be appreciated by many if possible, as there is still a big user base on Assetto Corsa with all the great car/track modding going on.
